Class 1

Our Reception class is taught by Miss E Johnson. The curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and pupils are provided with many opportunities to develop their core skills through topic learning in preparation for KS1.We currently use the structure of Letters and Sounds for our Phonics scheme, alongside Jolly Phonics actions.

We record progress using the Tapestry online system and provide all parents with access to the view their child’s learning.

Class 2

This is a combined Year 1 / Year 2 class taught by Mrs K Brookes, with support from Mrs J Flint. We follow the 2014 National Curriculum for KS1 and plan lessons and learning objectives to ensure that all students meet these requirements. We record progress using the Classroom Monitor online system based on a pupil’s understand of each of the curriculum objectives.

The timetable has been developed such that there is a focus on English (including Phonics) and maths before lunchtime with other subjects being used to develop a wider understanding of the application of these core skills.

Class 3

This is a combined Year 3/ Year 4 class taught by Mr B Tuckett, with support from Mrs V Roden and Ms L McCauley. We follow the 2014 National Curriculum for KS2 and plan lessons and learning objectives to ensure that all students meet these requirements. We record progress using the Classroom Monitor online system based on a pupil’s understand of each of the curriculum objectives.

The timetable has been developed such that there is a focus on Reading, Writing and maths before lunchtime with other subjects being used to develop a wider understanding of the application of these core skills. We rotate foundation and creative subjects on a termly basis.

Class 4

This is a combined Year 5/ Year 6 class taught by Mrs A Simon, with support from Mrs S Clark. We follow the 2014 National Curriculum for KS2 and plan lessons and learning objectives to ensure that all students meet these requirements. We record progress using the Classroom Monitor online system based on a pupil’s understand of each of the curriculum objectives.

The school have been developed such that there is a focus on Reading, Writing and maths before lunchtime with other subjects being used to develop a wider understanding of the application of these core skills. Year 6 has a focus on SATs exams in the Spring and Summer terms and the class is often taught using group work to accommodate this.
