Forest Schools

Forest School is “an inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.”

Forest School at Bunwell Primary School takes place on the former sports field at the back of the school.  The site had not been used as a sports field for several years due to its unevenness.  In May 2019 a large number of trees were planted around the edge of the site and a log circle was built in the middle of the field, work is ongoing to develop the site further.

Two sessions a week are taken on the site throughout the year; one session for children in EYFS and one session for Year 1 and Year 2.  We have also run a successful after school club for children in Key Stage 2.

At Bunwell, Forest School is run by Mrs Brookes, who has completed her Level 3 training.
